Earth, Water, Fire, Nature, Mineral: Each of us carries the gifts and challenges of one of these elements, and learning how to grow in alignment with them can bring an ease and energy that we may not have experienced before. 

In this special class for those who have taken Composting Capitalism, we'll return to some of the foundational pieces of Caliban and the Witch, explore what animism is and what it looks like in daily life, and reconnect to the immense power of the land. 

Fear is a primal experience that can cause us to become frozen in terror or sweep us into a rushing current of panic. At times, fear is caution that should be heeded; other times, fear is a sign to swim deeper, further, into the heart of what scares us most.

What could be possible for you in the coming Spring if you practiced flowing with your deepest fears this Winter?

It takes discernment to understand which habits, relationships, situations, and paradigms are ready to fall away like the Autumn leaves, and this is what we'll be covering in this seasonal class.

In this gathering, I'm going to share what I've learned about what it means to actually live seasonally and why it's deeper than cute decor or special recipes (although those are lots of fun, too). 

We invite you to Listening to the Land: Oak Island. This is a free, monthly gathering on the third Saturday of each month. It will likely be quite informal and emergent. We envision a time to say hello and make offerings to the land, some individual listening, and coming together in circle to share what we've heard.

The first harvest coincides with the halfway point between the Summer Solstice and Autumn Equinox and is an apt time to gather the fruits of our learning. To aid you in making medicine from the Summer of Support, we'll go through each of the four areas we've covered and work with them more deeply.

The systems we live in are broken – oppressive structures that are based on linear progress and exploitation of resources (including our own energy) in order to keep up with the self-proclaimed "norm" of continuous growth.

Yet, when we look to our beautiful planet Earth and Nature, we have the best example of sustainability and regeneration right there:

Nature is cyclical, and as part of Nature, so are we!
