Their sharp talons may not be wrapped around an abundance of food right now, but they can gather sticks and grass while they wait for the bounty that is (hopefully) to come. Watching Eagles and other birds of prey is one of my favorite pastimes, and the bare trees of Winter make it easier to observe them as they rest and nest.
