Your labor isn’t something to be exploited or wasted away inside of work that feels empty to you. For most of our adult lives, our labor has been extracted from us by organizations or clients that - as lovely as they may be - are primarily interested in getting as much from us as they can for the least amount of money and effort possible.

Within this context, carving out a working life that matters to you and that supports your financial needs is a radical thing, and I’m so honored to guide people through that process.

In my personal experience and in my role as a career coach for the last five years, I’ve seen the power that comes when someone is very clear about what’s important to them and what their gifts are. They become so in tune with who they are that their work becomes an act of sacred devotion and service.

If you sense that you’re being invited into work that is deeply meaningful, I would love to support you. I use the term “career coaching” because it provides a common starting point, but really, this path is one of inner-wisdom-nourishment, unlearning, sacred space tending, and way-showing.

“I cannot recommend Megan more highly as a career coach.” - Megan S.

My process is based on the cyclical and life-sustaining wisdom of Nature. I am not interested in perpetuating cultural norms such as scarcity, urgency, or linear growth. This process works because it reconnects you to the truth that resides in your bones: that your life is about more than being exhausted, bored, or convinced that you have nothing to offer. While neither of us can know where this process will lead you, you will not leave it the same person you were when you began.

In this 6-month program, we move through a seasonal framework that I’ve been developing for nearly three years:

Fall: Release

Bring an objective, non-judgmental perspective to your career and understand what’s come to fruition, what needs more time, and what needs to be composted before the Winter.

Session 1: Opening Assessment | Session 2: Tending to the Nervous System | Session 3: Discover and Embody Your Values

Winter: Integration

Connect with the fire that animates you from within in order to rejuvenate your spirit and discern where you need to go next.

Session 4: Cast a Compelling Vision for Your Life and Career | Session 5: Intuitive Career Reading | Session 6: Utilize Your Strengths

Spring: Rebirth

Start doing the work that aligns with your vision, values, and strengths. Take up new space in your career in a way that honors who you are on a deep level and that allows you to meet your material needs.

Session 7: Assessing Your Needs  | Session 8: Understanding Your Capacity | Session 9: Tap into Your Network in Authentic Ways

Summer: Fruition

Enjoy and expand the fruits of your labors. Get to know your new edges and discern what you want to carry with you into the next Autumn.

Session 10: Increasing Ease | Session 11: Expand Your Vision | Session 12: Closing Assessment

This program includes a workbook with rich, seasonal content to guide your process. Clients have found the workbook to be an important addition to our one on one coaching sessions.

Here’s what two former clients had to say about the process:

Partnering with Megan through A Wild New Work is one of the most empowering gifts that you can give to yourself. Megan trusts you when you don't trust yourself. Through her gentle and loving yet direct approach, I've been able to learn how to acknowledge and release my insecurities, fears, and expectations in order to find clarity, purpose, and open myself up to new opportunities and dreams.

- Janelle

Megan helped me transform from exhausted and confused to grounded and empowered. I was feeling stuck in my career trajectory and unable to move forward, struggling with burnout and a plethora of limiting beliefs. She patiently and skillfully guided me to trust myself and take a leap of faith that liberated me, enlightened me, and changed my life for the better.

- Emily

The crises that confront our planet are a reflection of a culture that is imbalanced, impoverished, and in pain. A culture plagued by its own emptiness.

But beneath the wildfires, epidemics, and state violence lies a strong stillness - a sense that something ancient is holding all of this together. I seek to tap into that ancestral wisdom so that myself and others can be nourished at a deep and meaningful level.

Your spirit, however forcefully it may have been dampened by others’ expectations of you or by your own confusion about how to nurture it, is still there, powerful and full of creative energy. I will show you the tools and practices I’ve used to help myself and many others reconnect with our intuitive wisdom, and I will challenge you to become the guardian of your own precious, wild work.

It’s a journey that can rearrange, rejuvenate, and restore the ecology of your soul.

"This experience has lifted me to the next level in my life." - Danielle

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: How do I know if career coaching would be helpful to me?
A: The benefits of one on one coaching in your career are many, including: gaining clarity about what it is that you do and don’t want in your working life, getting to know and leverage your strengths, feeling less lonely in the difficult moments, and being held accountable so that you move forward and create new momentum for yourself. If you are experiencing distress or discomfort in your career, have tried tweaking things on your own, and are still feeling stuck, partnering with a coach can be incredibly effective.

Q: How do I know if this career coaching program is for me?
A: I know how tricky it can be to choose a coach that’s going to help you achieve the results you want. This coaching program has been a great fit for people who have reached some level of mastery or familiarity in their career and sense that something new wants to come through in their lives. If you resonate with the materials on my website, on the podcast, or in Cedar Lodge and you see the potential of a fruitful relationship with me, I encourage you to schedule a free consultation so that we can learn more about one another.

Q: Our backgrounds and lived experiences are different. How do I know I’ll feel safe with you?
A: I know that my experience of work as a white, cis-gendered, traditionally-educated woman is different than it is for others who bring layered experiences with race, gender identity, class, ability, and more. My unlearning of white supremacy and patriarchy is an ongoing, imperfect process, but one that I am committed to. I always endeavor to create a completely safe and nurturing space for my clients, many of whom are of different sexual orientations, races, and backgrounds than me. To make meaningful changes in our lives, we need to feel fully seen and appreciated for who we are, and if you ever feel like your experience has been diminished by me (from afar or as a client), I would like to know, take responsibility, and do better. I also understand how powerful it can be to work with a coach who shares your lived experience and am happy to refer you to someone else if you’re in need of coaching but don’t resonate with my program.

Q: What can I expect out of this coaching program?
A: You can expect your career to be different by the end. For some people, that has meant new work or a departure from old work. For others, it has meant new ways of working in the same job but with much more ease and potential for growth. I can’t predict where this path will lead you, but I can say for certain that if you show up and do the work, your life will not look the same as it does now.

Q: What’s the time commitment for this program?
A: We have 60-minute sessions twice per month and move through the Rewilding Work Field Guide together, which includes work to be done between sessions. The curriculum is front-loaded, meaning that the time you’ll spend on the workbook materials and supplemental resources is more in the first few months than in the final months, when you’ll be spending more time on making the changes you’ve identified wanting to make in your career. To ensure that you get the most out of this program, you should have one hour each week available for study and reflection and two hours per month for our sessions (totaling about 6 hours per month). You’ll be making changes and integrating your new learning throughout the rest of your days, but that’s not quantifiable.

Q: What if I invest in this program and it starts to feel like the wrong thing?
A: I would never coerce a client to continue if it turns out that we’re not the right fit for one another. This has never happened, but if you begin the program and change your mind, you can choose to stop. Refunds aren’t provided for completed sessions and the cost of the workbook and gift would be deducted from your investment (or charged to you if your payments haven’t covered their costs), but a pro-rated amount would be returned to you.

If you have other questions, I am happy to answer them in a consultation, which you can schedule above!
