Nourishing Night: Drinking in the Wild Darkness

  • Sauvie Island Portland, OR, 97231 United States (map)

Darkness is a kind of food for your body and soul. Most of us are malnourished in this way, lacking the absolute presence, awe, and ego dis-assembly that is necessary for a rich waking life and that’s only available in the absence of light.

Even a small amount of time spent intentionally in the dark, in a wilder place, is a potent medicine for us modern peoples.

In this two-hour experience, you will visit the Land of Night inside of a strong, safe container with others who know the gifts contained within that place.

You’ll be led through experiences to help you:

  • Access a deeper sensory knowing (it’s amazing what you can sense when your eyes don’t have access to the light)

  • Connect with some of the beings who know how to dwell in the Land of the Night

  • Walk the awe-some edge between ease and fear that is so present in the darkness

  • Cultivate greater seeing, sensing, and acting in alignment with nature’s cycles

Our time together will include silence, discussion, intuitive tools such as Oracle cards, communication with more-than-human beings such as the plants, slow walking, a tea ceremony, and more.
