As the outer world becomes less stable and more dizzying, you may find yourself looking for guidance with deeper roots.

As someone who has studied capitalism, career development, vocation, and the workings of the Soul for over 10 years, I’ve found no better guide for this journey than the Earth herself.

When we come to the Land in a thoughtful and respectful way, truly open to hearing the wisdom of the Soil, the Trees, the Deer, and all of the beings who make their home there, it becomes possible to answer some of our most profound questions, like:

  • What gifts are mine to share with the community? Why am I here?

  • What direction am I meant to go in next?

  • How can I stay safe and find joy in the midst of collective chaos, and how can I create islands of care for others?

In this single-day retreat, among the great Sandy River and the Old Growth Forest, we will listen deeply to what the Land most wants us to know at this point in our lives. From that rooted place, we’ll ask for Nature’s help planning our most aligned next steps.

Our Time Together Will Include:

  • Teaching on the topic of gifts, callings, and tracking the Soul’s wild path in the context of collapse and capitalism

  • Ritual to help you embody the change(s) you most need at this time

  • Exercises to prime you for a conversation with the Land and your wise and well ancestors

  • Solo time for you to hear what the Land and your ancestors most want you to know about your calling at this time

  • Sharing tea, snacks, and lunch (all food is included when you register)

  • Discussion about what you’ve heard from the Land about your gifts and how they need to be expressed in your life right now

  • Divination practices to help clarify what you’re meant to do with the insights you’ve received

Megan has such a presence, balancing strength and wisdom with curiosity and grace. Any time I spend with her and others who are drawn to her orbit ends up feeling serendipitous and incredibly fulfilling. Should you have the opportunity to participate in a workshop or other event with Megan, prepare to be vulnerable in the best way possible, knowing that you will be held, respected and connected to all others in the space.

This Retreat Could Be an Ideal Fit For You If:

  • You’re at a crossroads in your working life or with regard to your sense of purpose

  • You’re feeling burnt out but unsure of how to recover or what you would do for income instead

  • You’ve tried figuring out next steps on your own or with human guides and know that you need to go to the Earth and your ancestors directly for more robust help

I have seen the power of a very intentional day with the Land, and I’m really looking forward to retreating with you this Spring, as the Land comes back to the fullness of Life.

How the Day Will Flow:

This day will be guided by the Land, our ancestors, and my intuition, but the plan I’m putting forth is as follows:

9:30am: Arrivals and settling in

9:45: Welcome and introductions

10:30: Teaching on the concepts of gifts, purpose, and the medicine of Spring

11: Healing disappointments ritual and first Land connection session

11:45: Lunch and solo movement time

12:30: Second Land connection practice and listening time

1:15: Sharing what we’re noticing about our gifts

2:00: Final Land connection practice and planning in alignment with Nature time

2:45: Closing ritual to share our learning and seal our practice

3:30pm: Our time concludes

No one has heard the root go deeper in the dark,
But the tree is lifted by this inward work
And its plumes shine, and its leaves are glittering.

Who I Am:

Hi there! My name is Megan (she/her), and I have been facilitating meditative spaces since I joined the “Retreat Team” at my Catholic High School. There is something really special about choosing to step out of the flow of daily life and into a curated experience that aligns with the seasonal rhythms, and I’m so excited to create this retreat for you.

As a vocational guide, writer, and student of the Earth over the last ten years, I have had to confront my own sense of disconnection to my purpose and give birth to a different way of showing up in the world. I guide my clients through their own reclamation of purpose and support them as they do work that’s aligned for them on a deep level.

My work is rooted in animist, Earth-based spirituality, meaning that I believe the Land is alive and sacred. In this retreat, you will be invited to connect to the larger wisdom that makes sense to you in order to understand your purpose and how it wants to be expressed in your life right now. You can read more about my background here.

I went into Megan’s Summer Solstice retreat with an open heart and no expectations, and was filled with gratitude from the first minute of the gathering to the last. I would relive it every single day if I could.

A Note About the Land:

As a descendant of white settlers, I am attempting to connect deeply with Land in a way that interrupts ongoing colonization. The Land we will be meeting on is the unceded, ancestral home of the Cayuse, Umatilla, and Walla Walla peoples. In an effort to honor that lineage of care and intimacy with the Land, I have asked the Land’s permission to hold this retreat there, will be making offerings to the Land ahead of time, we will do so on the day of the retreat, and we will endeavor to leave the space better than we found it. Finally, 5% of net revenue will be paid in reparations to Nimiipuu Protecting the Environment.
