Grow Into Your True Self at Work
A Wild New School is a learning community rooted in the laws, beauty, and rhythms of Nature. Students are invited to shed an outdated approach to developing in their careers and open up to the vitality that’s available to them at work. Based on a seasonal model of growth, A Wild New School offers modern professionals a place to create, expand, refine and tend to their sacred work.
As the Earth revolves around the Sun each year, we experience the four seasons: spring, summer, fall and winter. Each season has its own energy, and many of us have become detached from the wisdom found within them. A Wild New School offers four online or hybrid (online and in-person) courses per year, each one focused on the themes and offerings of the current season. By aligning our learning and actions with the seasons, we return to our natural rhythms and make change out of groundedness, not fear or desperation.
The current model of career development remains very linear and based on an industrial approach of “learn, do, retire.” In the future of work (which of course is already here) a healthy career follows a more spiralic path of “learn, do, learn, do, rest, learn, repeat” (World Economic Forum Report, 2019). Through one on one support, community accountability, seasonal topics and outdoor activities, students in A Wild New School will be primed for the more flexible and fluid future of work.
Graduates of our seasonal courses will:
Have clarity about what is and isn’t working in their career
Know what their top strengths are
Step into their “Zones of Genius”
Take aligned action in their careers
Experience greater self-care and a deeper sense of connection in and outside of work
While A Wild New School is available to students from all over the globe, our curriculum is based on the ecosystems and seasons found in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States of America. This land has been tended to by Native American tribes since well before European settlers displaced them, and we humbly share our knowledge of this land and its inhabitants with members of A Wild New School.
